Family History: Learn from experts

2011 provides a great opportunity for family history enthusiasts and genealogists to learn from experts who might be visiting their communities.

MyHeritage's own Daniel Horowitz has a daunting tour schedule in the coming months, and I will also be speaking in numerous venues. We will both be speaking at the major genealogy events as well as staffing the company's booth.

We invite MyHeritage.com users to stop by and say hello at the conferences or to attend the other programs at the conferences.

We are especially looking forward to greeting our UK users at the upcoming Who Do You Think You Are? Live family history fair in London.

Both Daniel and I are looking forward to meeting with MyHeritage.com users as we visit communities and conferences in the US, UK and Canada.

UPDATE: Several readers (see comments below) wanted to know why we were not planning to be in their localities. With numerous comments, it seemed a response was necessary to explain. Both Daniel and I speak at numerous conferences, sometimes the same ones, sometimes different ones. We are always willing to work in visits to local genealogy societies, in proximity to that event or on stops to and from those events.  Societies can always contact us at daniel@myheritage.com or schelly@myheritage.com.

  1. Yeah Schelly! You will be at Jamboree this June. I missed last year but will be there for sure this year!
  2. This news is fabulous for the lucky ones who can get the conferences - but what about poor old Australia...nothing EVER happens here. By that I mean The Big Guns who provide we family researchers with the Goods. We aren't short on family research Groups here in Oz, but to see you folk here, Well...cheers sonya
  3. What, not coming to Kansas City?
  4. Surprising that only one location in Canada has been submitted. Are more planned or is Montreal the location of the most users of My Heritage?
  5. Although I was invited to speak at the Association of Jewish Libraries conference in Montreal, I'd welcome the opportunity to speak in other localities if my schedule permits.
  6. Hi, Jack. Any of the gen societies are invited to contact either Daniel or myself to see how this might be worked into this year's or next year's schedule.
  7. Hi, Sheri. Jamboree is one of my favorite events of the year. Looking forward to seeing you there.
  8. Hi, Sonya

I spoke in Melbourne and Hong Kong last year, while Daniel will be in Australia in 2012 for the major AustroAsia conference (Adelaide). I'm sure he would like to meet as many societies and group as possible when he is down under. Now's the time for groups there to contact him.
