We’ve expanded our own family tree!

As we enlarge our own company tree, MyHeritage.com has made it even easier for people around the world to track their family history, connect with relatives and build their unique family trees.

We've just welcomed - through acquisition - the Hamburg, Germany-based OSN (Online Social Networking) Group and its sites, verwandt.de (Germany), moikrewni.pl (Poland) and dynastree.com (USA).

We will be sharing new technologies, tools and features, contributing to a an easier and better experience for all family historians and roots seekers.

With the new addition of OSN's 10 family sites, MyHeritage now has 13 million family trees, 47 million members and 530 million profiles. The increased possibilities mean that, for example, it will be easier for North Americans to track their European roots and for Europeans to find family branches that migrated to North America.

MyHeritage.com now covers more of the world to help more people research their families, stay connected and build their family trees with security and privacy.

Covering more of the world

The OSN sites have been among the fastest growing social networks in the past two years and its founders Daniel Grözinger and Sven Schmidt have been involved in successful Internet enterprises. Read more about their work on the company blog.

This exciting time means that there are now additional opportunities for MyHeritage members to connect with people around the world, including OSN's 11 million members, who will be able to continue building their secure and private trees.

The new acquisition means more resources in Germany, Poland, the Netherlands as well as Latin America, and a new branch office in Hamburg, in addition to our UK and Israel offices.

Features are designed to make connecting easier and fun. From downloadable free software, facial recognition and other tools that make it possible to connect families across many countries, name spelling variants and pronunciations. Operating in 35 languages means that more people globally can access these resources.

If you have a success story about finding family on MyHeritage.com, let us know about it and we'll feature you in a future post.
