I just dived into our family history when I found a book about it on my dad's shelf. We have a seamless tree that goes back until 1510 and other bits that reach back to the 900s.
I started to put parts of the book on our family site at myheritage, maybe we can fill some of the gaps from there. And it was funny to contact living relatives on other sites around the net. Wondering now if I'll get any replies ;-)

This is one of the best posts I've ever read! Thanks to Randy Seaver for telling me about you in his listing of best posts for the week! What a pleasure to read---I want to remember it so I can pass on some of your good points to people who are just getting started. Thank you so much!
